The ETRC2 integrated fluorimetric sensor measures the concentration of the fluorescent indicator PTSA (pyrenetetrasulfonic acid) in water. The fluidic and optical design of the ETRC2 sensor is designed to overcome many of the shortcomings of other fluorimeters. It can be easily inserted into a special compression fitting tee designed to ensure the correct positioning of the ETRC2 sensor in the fluid flow. The specially manufactured tee for the ETRC2 sensor has two ¾ inch female NPT ports for connection to an existing ¾ inch water sample line. The ETRC2 sensor can be connected to any device that accepts an isolated or non-isolated 4-20 mA input. In addition to measuring fluorescence, the ETRC2 sensor has additional photoelectric components that monitor the color and turbidity of water samples. This additional feature allows the ETRC2 sensor to automatically compensate for color and turbidity to eliminate interferences inherent in real samples. The ETRC2 sensor has a short fluid path that is easy to clean. The ETRC2 sensor uses a narrow-bandgap gallium phosphide photodiode integrated with an optical filter that is resistant to high temperatures and high humidity. This combination greatly improves the reliability of the ETRC2 sensor. It can operate in a wide range of environmental conditions without the need for humidity and temperature control. The ETRC2 conductor is designed for stable and continuous operation over long periods of time.
